United Kingdom proxies
UK proxies route your requests through British residential, ISP or mobile IPs, with city exits in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds. Britain is one of the most online retail markets in Europe and has its own post-Brexit consumer and data rules, so a UK edition is rarely just the EU site in sterling.

- Online sales were 28.8% of retail sales value in Great Britain in September 2026 (ONS), so UK price monitoring is mostly an online job.
- Since 6 April 2025 the CMA can fine businesses directly, up to 10% of global turnover, under the DMCC Act, which also bans drip pricing. Mandatory fees belong in the first price shown.
- The UK runs its own regime: UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, amended but not replaced by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, supervised by the ICO.
- Mobile exits in the UK are country-level only; for London versus Manchester comparisons use the residential pools.

What teams collect in the United Kingdom
Price monitoring
Supermarket price comparison is a mainstream topic in Britain, and loyalty-card prices sit next to shelf prices on the same product page. Capture both as separate fields; grocery price monitoring lists the rest.
Travel fares
British rail fares mix advance, off-peak and anytime products on the same train, and coach operators compete on the same corridors. The rail and bus fares deep dive covers how to sample them by departure date.
Real estate & jobs
Property portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla present rents and asking prices per area, and London's market behaves differently from Manchester's or Leeds'. Running each city's searches from that city keeps default sort and radius consistent.
SEO & SERP
Google results for service queries ('plumber', 'solicitor') differ between Birmingham and London. Agencies tracking UK clients sample each city they serve; see local rank tracking.
Ad verification
UK mobile exits let you see what a phone on a British carrier network is served, which is where in-app and mobile-web placements are checked. Mobile ad verification covers the session set-up.
In depth
The United Kingdom market, for data teams
The drip-pricing ban and direct CMA enforcement
Chapter 1 of Part 4 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (protection from unfair trading) came into force on 6 April 2025, together with the Part 3 enforcement powers. The Competition and Markets Authority can now decide for itself that consumer law has been broken and fine a business up to 10% of global turnover, rather than going through the courts first.
The same regime bans drip pricing, where an initial price is shown and further mandatory fees are added later in the journey. For collectors that makes the first displayed price and the final checkout price a meaningful pair: gaps between them in ticketing, travel or delivery are exactly what the rule targets. Collect both and store the step at which each fee appeared.
Online retail in Great Britain, in figures
| Measure | Value | Period | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online share of total retail sales value | 28.8% | September 2026 | ONS, Retail sales, Great Britain |
| Same measure, previous month | 28.9% | August 2026 | ONS |
| Individuals using the internet | 95.5% of population | 2024 | World Bank / ITU |
Note the geography: the ONS retail series covers Great Britain, not Northern Ireland. Retailers often treat Northern Ireland separately for delivery charges and stock, so if you sample it, label it as its own region rather than folding it into the UK average.
UK GDPR, the 2018 Act and the 2025 amendments
After leaving the EU the UK kept a domestic copy of the GDPR, known as UK GDPR, alongside the Data Protection Act 2018. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 received Royal Assent on 19 June 2025; the Information Commissioner's Office describes it as amending, but not replacing, UK GDPR, the 2018 Act and PECR.
For a team collecting public product, travel or listing pages the practical point is unchanged: minimise personal data you did not need, and document why you kept any that you did. Our acceptable use policy sets the boundaries on our side. Nothing here is legal advice.

FAQ
Questions
Something not covered? Write to contact@arcproxies.io.
Can I target Manchester or Leeds rather than London?
Yes. London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds are the four UK metros on the rotating pools. Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast are not available as city targets; use UK country targeting for them.
Do you have UK mobile proxies?
Yes, the United Kingdom is an ARC Mobile country. Mobile exits are chosen at country level only and can be held for between 5 and 60 minutes per session.
Will a UK exit show me UK prices on a site that also sells in the EU?
Usually, but the IP is only one signal. Language, currency cookie and any stored postcode also select the edition. Clear cookies per flow and check with a location test before trusting a run.
Is Northern Ireland part of the UK country target?
Country targeting returns UK exits without a guarantee of which region they sit in. If Northern Ireland pricing matters, verify each exit's location and record it, since there is no city target there.
