Airport parking, lounge and transfer price monitoring

Airport parking and transfer price monitoring collects pre-book prices for car parks, lounges, fast-track and transfers by entry date and time, duration and product, on airport sites and resellers. These are local products sold mostly to local travellers, so checks run from the airport's own country.

  • Airport parking comparison sites
  • Airport commercial and car-park revenue teams
  • Transfer and ride marketplaces
  • Lounge and fast-track resellers

The short answer

  • Parking is priced by entry date and time, length of stay, product and lead time; one "daily rate" does not exist.
  • Car parking is a major airport revenue line: ACI World puts it at 24% of non-aeronautical revenue in 2023, up from 21% in 2019.
  • Quotes are small JSON or HTML responses, so this is high-volume, low-bandwidth work for the cheapest pool.
  • Booking fees count. UK guidance treats booking and processing fees as mandatory charges that belong in the total price.

The problem

What goes wrong without the right IPs

Entry time changes the quote

Many car parks price by the exact entry and exit time, not by calendar day. A quote for 06:00 to 22:00 over seven days and one for 12:00 to 12:00 can differ by a full day's charge.

Products are not comparable by name

Short stay, long stay, meet and greet, park and ride, official and off-airport operators all appear in one result list. Map each to a product type, with distance or transfer time to the terminal.

Lead time is the price lever

Pre-book prices typically move as the date approaches and capacity fills. A single observation per entry date misses the curve that a revenue team or comparison site actually needs.

Fees and cancellation sit at the end

Booking fees, cancellation cover and amendment charges often appear only at the final step. Collect where they appear and label which step the price came from.

Transfers price per vehicle, not per person

A private transfer costs the same for one or four passengers up to the vehicle's capacity; shared shuttles price per seat. Store the basis or comparisons break.

What to collect

What you can collect

Airport and product
Airport code, car park or service, operator, and mapped product type.
Entry and exit date-time
Exact times, because pricing is often by hour bands.
Duration
Length of stay in days and hours, derived from entry and exit.
Lead time
Days between observation and entry, for pricing curves.
Price and fees
Quoted price, booking fee, total and currency.
Terms
Cancellation and amendment conditions, which differ between airport-run and third-party products.
Distance or transfer time
To the terminal; explains price gaps between on- and off-airport parking.
Transfer details
Vehicle type, capacity, private or shared, per-vehicle or per-person basis.
Availability
Available or sold out per product and date.

How it runs

How a collection run works

  1. 01

Define the quote grid per airport

Entry dates over the next 60–90 days, a handful of standard durations (for example 3, 7 and 14 days), fixed entry and exit times, and the products and sellers you compare.

  2. 02

Call the quote endpoint directly where possible

Most parking and transfer quotes come back from one small request. Fetch that on the rotating pool rather than rendering the page.

Lightweight quotes on the rotating pool
    import requests# rotating ISP pool, exit in the airport's countryuser = "USERNAME_pool-arcfast_country-de".replace("_pool-arcfast", "_pool-arc").replace("_country-de", "_country-gb")proxy = f"http://{user}:PASSWORD@proxy.arcproxies.io:8000"r = requests.get(    "https://parking.example/api/quote",    params={"airport": "MAN", "entry": "2026-12-19T06:00", "exit": "2026-12-26T22:00"},    proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy},    timeout=20,)r.raise_for_status()quotes = r.json()   # store product, price, fees and terms per row
  3. 03

Use a session for multi-step checkouts

Where the total with fees only appears after selecting a product, hold a sticky session for that flow and stop before payment.

  4. 04

    Store curves, not snapshots

Re-quote the same entry dates as they approach and plot price against lead time per product. That curve is what airports price against and what comparison sites rank on.

Setup

Why airports care: parking is a core revenue line

For airports, these products are not side lines. ACI World reports that non-aeronautical revenue made up 36.7% of total airport revenue in 2023, and that car parking's share of non-aeronautical revenue rose from 21% in 2019 to 24% in 2023, led by North America.

That is why airport commercial teams monitor off-airport competitors and resellers as closely as airlines monitor fares, and why comparison sites in this niche compete on how fresh and complete their quotes are. The mechanics of a pricing curve are the same as in dynamic pricing elsewhere in travel.

Total price and booking fees

The UK CMA's price transparency guidance lists administration fees, however described, including booking or processing fees, as mandatory charges, and names local charges payable at airports among them. A comparison that ranks on the pre-fee price can put the wrong product first.

Collect the total at the step where it appears and the components alongside it. If a seller only shows fees at checkout, quote through to that step in one sticky session and stop before payment.

Where airport extras fit in a travel dataset

Parking demand follows departures, so within travel fare aggregation aligning your parking grid with airline fares on the same dates shows how parking and flight prices move together around school holidays. For travellers, car rental at the destination and transfers are substitutes for each other, which is why some comparison products track both.

As with every travel source: public, logged-out quotes only, modest request rates and no completed bookings. See collecting travel data responsibly.

FAQ

Questions

Something not covered? Write to contact@arcproxies.io.

How do airport parking comparison sites get their prices?

Through direct feeds from operators where those exist, and by collecting public pre-book quotes for set entry and exit times, durations and products from airport sites and resellers. Re-quoting the same dates as they approach builds the price curve that comparisons rank on.

Why does airport parking get more expensive closer to the date?

Pre-book parking is commonly priced dynamically against remaining capacity and lead time, so prices for busy dates tend to rise as spaces fill. The pattern varies by airport and operator, which is what monitoring measures.

How important is parking to airport revenue?

ACI World reports that car parking made up 24% of airports' non-aeronautical revenue in 2023, up from 21% in 2019, and that non-aeronautical revenue was 36.7% of total airport revenue in 2023.

Which proxy plan suits airport parking quotes?

ARC Basic, the rotating ISP pool, is usually enough: quote responses are small and the volume is high. Use ARC Fast with a sticky session for sellers that only show the total after a multi-step selection.

How much bandwidth does airport parking monitoring use?

Very little per quote. As an illustration, 20 airports, 30 entry dates, three durations and four sellers quoted daily at about 120 KB each come to roughly 26 GB a month.
